Cool links I have stumbled upon the last week.

- **[EU agrees to landmark rules on artificial intelligence](https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2023/12/ai-regulation-will-begin-in-the-eu/)** -
the details are scarce, but I trust to trust the EU.
Recently they have been on a streak of good decision and removing the bad ones
- **[Declarative filesystem management with Emacs & Org Mode](https://sqrtminusone.xyz/posts/2023-11-11-index/)**
I don't buy using Mega for private files and would rather opted for using some vpc + rsync, but otherwise?
Mind blowing idea and execution.
- **[ISO 3103:2019](https://www.iso.org/standard/73224.html)** -
ISO standard for tea boiling.
Yes, this exists.
- **[Epic v. Google: everything we’re learning live in Fortnite court](https://www.theverge.com/23945184/epic-v-google-fortnite-play-store-antitrust-trial-updates)** -
Google lost the battle.
We will soon live in a more open world.
Somehow, Apple is still of the hook (at least in the US).
- **[FTC wants Microsoft's relationship with OpenAI under the microscope](https://www.theregister.com/2023/12/11/microsoft_openai_investment_ftc/)** -
I like where this going.
- **[Doom 30 anniversary stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvAkaJsvAXs)** [video] -
the Two Johns on one stream, what a time to be alive
- **[Computer Room](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ1RcNxiNX8)** [video] -
there is something magical about computers of the past.
- **[Meet your new landlord: Google](https://www.businessinsider.com/company-towns-facebook-google-tesla-elon-musk-housing-real-estate-2023-12?IR=T)** - Company towns are on the rise.
- **[How to fix the web](https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/10/17/1081194/how-to-fix-the-internet-online-discourse/)** -
an interesting take on the state of web and potential remediation
- **[Creator economy investor says the old web is gone, replaced by ‘people who are professionally entertaining you](https://archive.is/Sg5Ku#selection-707.56-707.167)** -
I, for one, will not miss the old Social Media.
But I don't like the new one we are getting.
- **[The gulf between the real world and streaming has never been wider](https://www.theverge.com/24003126/netflix-viewing-data-ginny-georgia-witcher)** -
Netflix released data, and we are shocked that quality shows and popular shows are not the same group.
- **[Neverending Evangelion](https://www.polygon.com/2019/6/19/18683634/neon-genesis-evangelion-hideaki-anno-depression-shinji-anime-characters-movies)** -
great analysis of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
A must-read for the fans.
